제9회 아마도사진상 공모

아마도예술공간에서는 2022년도 제9회 아마도사진상을 공모합니다. 아마도사진상은 만 40세 이하의 국내 및 아시아 국적의 작가를 대상으로 하는 국제 사진 공모전입니다. 21세기 디지털 테크놀로지 시대에 사진은 매체가 가진 기존의 개념에서 급진적인 변화에 직면해 있으며, 제작 및 배포 등 생산부터 소비에 걸친 과정에서 동시대적 변화의 흐름과 궤를 같이 하고 있습니다. 또한, 사진은 동시대 미술과의 접점 속에서 그 영역을 끊임없이 확장, 실험하고 있습니다. 아마도사진상은 이러한 매체적 특수성과 동시에 확장성에 주목하며, 사진의 개념을 재검토하고, 사진의 의미를 재정립하는 것을 목표로 제정되었습니다. 이에 아마도사진상은 사진이라는 매체의 확장 가능성을 고민하고 실험하는 작가를 발굴 및 지원하고자 하며, 향후 지속적인 발전을 위한 고민을 함께 하고자 합니다. 1회 이현무, 2회 조준용, 3회 장성은, 4회 전명은, 5회 조경재, 6회 김태동, 7회 김신욱, 8회 압축과팽창 작가가 선정되었습니다. 이번 제9회 아마도사진상 공모에 사진을 주요 매체로 작업하는 사진가들의 많은 관심과 지원을 부탁드립니다.

◇모집개요

① 공모명: 제9회 아마도사진상

② 공모부문: 사진 및 복제성을 기반으로 한 디지털 미디어

③ 대상: 공고 시 만 40세 이하의 국내 및 아시아 국적의 작가

④ 선정인원: 1명(팀)

⑤ 지원:

-1,000만원(설치를 포함한 작가/작품 지원비와 상금 포함, 원천세 8.8%, 예술인 고용보험 0.7% 포함)

-그 외 전시 기획, 도록 및 인쇄물 지원, 전시장소 제공

◇공모 목적

① 아시아 시장을 대상으로 하는 국제 사진 공모전 개최

② 21세기 디지털 테크놀로지로 상징되는 전자복제 및 재현방식의 등장으로 사진 개념에 대한 근본적인 재검토

③ 변화, 발전하는 사진이라는 장르의 정의를 재해석하고 재정립하여 사진의 확대된 의미를 탐구하는 장 마련

◇선정방법

① 1차 심사: 포트폴리오 심사

② 2차 심사: 면접(프리젠테이션 형식)

※1차 합격자에 한하여 2차 면접 개별 공지

◇전시 일정 및 장소

① 전시 일정: 2022년 하반기 예정(11월 예정)

② 전시 장소: 아마도예술공간(서울시 용산구 이태원로 54길 8)

③ 전시 구성: 아마도사진상을 수상한 작가의 개인전

※면접심사에서는 매체의 특성상 실물 인쇄 및 작품을 가져오실 수 있습니다.

The 9th Amado Photography Award

Amado Photography Award, an international photography contest that Amado Art Space hosts in a bid to develop talent among photographers with Asian nationalities, including Korea, marks the 8th year. In the era of digital technology, photography is currently undergoing radical conceptual change in parallel with contemporary changes being observed in the areas of production, distribution and consumption. At the same time, photography continues broadening the horizon while keeping in contact with contemporary art. Amado Photography Award, noting the significance of something inherent in photography as a medium and the extensibility, focuses on reconsidering concept of photography and redefining meaning of photography. To this end, the award aims to develop and support photographers courageous enough to attempt artistic experiments while pondering extensibility of the medium, hoping that it will serve as a momentum to spur steady growth in the future.

◇ Outline of Award:

①Title: 9th Amado Photography Award

②Genre: Photography and Digital Media

③Target Entry: Artists focusing on mainly photography with other digital media/Artists with domestic or Asian nationality below 41 years of age.

④Number of winner: 1

⑤Winning Prize:

-10,000,000 KRW (including artwork production fee, installation fee, and prize money, 9.5% tax)

-curatorial support, production of catalogue, print-outs, exhibition space (Amado Art Space) will be supported.

◇Contest Objective:

①Host of Amado International photography contest with Photographers/Artists of Asian origin.

②Fundamental review of photography in the digital era of the 21st Century

③Provision of dialogues for photographers to analysis and reestablish the photographic genre of our time

◇Selection Process

①1st Process : Portfolio evaluation

②2nd Process : Interview Presentation

①Exhibition Schedule: Exhibition to take place in latter half of 2022 (expected in November)

③Exhibition composition: Solo Exhibition of the recipient artist
