Center Stage Korea 2011

- Grant for International Touring Project-

Korea Arts Management Service(KAMS), under the auspices of Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, has been operating Center Stage Korea grant program since 2007. Center Stage Korea is a supporting system which aims international market and audience development through distribution of Korean performing arts.

Center Stage Korea has two different grant programs as follow;

① Grant for Korean program in focus festival and/or arts centre abroad

② Grant for International touring project of Korean performing arts

Center Stage Korea Grant for International Touring Project has been designed to respond to the market demand, to stimulate the Korean presence on the international stage, and to support Korean performing artist's and company's international capability.

International presenters - festival, arts centre, network, etc. - are invited to apply for Center Stage Korea Grant for International Touring Project when their project meets the criteria below;

① the project includes the touring of at least 2 Korean performing arts companies in at least 2 venues/cities/countries.

② the international presenters pay economic contribution to Korean performing arts companies. Economic contribution includes guarantee and per-diem in regard to the company.

For the selected projects, KAMS subsidizes international airfare and cargo fee by allocating the grant directly to Korean performing arts companies who are invited internationally to perform in the frame of the project.

For 2011, the open call for projects had been run through August to October, 2010. Having gone through the screening by KAMS, three projects have been selected as recipient of the grant.
